New Rochelle OKs Free Holiday Parking Rules

Two-hour free parking begins Dec. 10 and continues through Dec. 31.

Get ready to spend those quarters on holiday gifts.

The City of New Rochelle has OK'd two-hour free holiday parking beginning Dec. 10 and continuing through the end of the year. The free parking is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The City Council unanimously approved a resolutions Tuesday waiving the parking fees during that period of time.

Free parking is available in all lots controlled by meters or ticket machines, excluding the New Roc City Garage, the New Rochelle Transit Center Garage and all permit parking areas.

Normal parking rules will be in effect at 9 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31. Parking will be free for 24 hours Jan. 1, and normal parking regulations will resume Jan. 2.
