Besides fresh fruits and vegetables and other goodies, the New Rochelle Farmers Market has special events from time to time, including cooking demonstrations.
At a recent market, Natasha Bernardez of Clean Plate Culinary was demoing a stir fry pasta salad.
Market visitors received a free sample of the pasta salad to try. Bernardez said the recipe can be found on her company's Web site or at communitymarkets.biz
Bernardez said she loves to come to farmers markets to see what they are offering to get inspired. On her radar the day Patch spoke with her were garlic scapes and zucchini blossoms.
The New Rochelle Farmers Market is held at Library Green from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Friday rain or shine. Scheduled for Friday, Aug. 10 is a tomato tasting from 10 a.m. to noon. For more information, visit communitymarkets.biz
