New Rochelle Braces for Coastal Storm

The city advises residents to monitor conditions and take precautions.

Message from the City of New Rochelle:

Good afternoon. This is the City of New Rochelle with an important weather advisory.

A coastal storm is expected in our region late today and tomorrow. While certainly less severe than Hurricane Sandy, heavy rains, coastal flooding and gusty winds are predicted.

The City is preparing, and we urge residents to monitor conditions and take appropriate precautions. As with any storm, in the event of a power outage, contact Con Edison directly at 1-800-75-CONED. Report downed trees to 235-4029 or 654-2300.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
