Mexican Culture and Dance at the Grand Market Saturday

The New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District sponsors the BID Family Market Days.

The BID Family Market Days for September kicks off Saturday with the sounds and tastes of Mexico.

As a warm-up to Mexican Independence Day, the Grand Market will showcase A Place to Go restaurant and roasted corn and fresh fruit will be available for purchase. The market is open at Library Green from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Beginning at 11 a.m., two dance troupes—Mazarate Dance Company and Son de Monton—will perform regional dances with a variety of colorful costumes.

The BID Family Day staff will guide participants in creating tiles and miniature pinatas.

The Grand Market has a wide range of produce and fruits, speciality foods, fish, breads, baked goods, cheese and artisanal products.

The market is located at the intersection of Huguenot and Lawton streets.

The New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District presents the BID Family Market Days with the New Rochelle Public Library, the City School District and the Department of parks and Recreation.
