Messy Weather in Store for Wednesday Morning

A winter weather advisory was issued for southern Westchester County.

Westchester drivers may need a few extra minutes Wednesday morning thanks to some wet, winter weather on the way.

A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service for southern Westchester County in effect from midnight to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The weather service is forecasting rain likely for the New Rochelle area before 11 p.m. Tuesday, then rain, snow and sleet. Although only a small amount of snow and sleet will accumulate (less than a half-inch), the roads will be slick for the morning commute. The overnight low will be around 32.

The messy mix will continue through about 1 p.m. Wednesday, and there will be a chance of rain, according to the NWS.

The temps Wednesday will hit a high near 37 degrees and will dip to a low of 32, according to the NWS.
