Greek Yogurt Sampled at New Rochelle Farmers Market

People were busily buying fresh vegetables, baked goods and hummus Friday at the Down to Earth Farmers Market in New Rochelle.

Market host Amy Gardiner was giving away samples of Sohha Greek Yogurt along with plum tomatoes from Alex's Tomato Farm and cucumbers from Dagele Brothers Produce.

"I also made lavash sprinkled with Za'atar spices" which Sohha also sells, Gardiner said.

Coming up next week, August 23, at the New Rochelle market, located on North Avenue in Huguenot Park in front of the New Rochelle High School, is a tomato tasting.

Gardiner said some of the other markets have corn roasts scheduled. Check downtoearthmarkets.com for special events.

The New Rochelle Farmers Market is open Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
