Fulton Avenue Drawbridge Will Close Through March

Effective Friday, January 31 at 10 a.m. and continuing until Friday, March 28, the Fulton Avenue Drawbridge between Secor Lane and Edison Avenue in Mount Vernon and Pelham Manor will be closed to vehicular traffic.  Short term closures of the bridge to pedestrian traffic will be required periodically throughout the project.

This closure is necessary to correct structural deficiencies detected by inspectors. A large scale rehabilitation project is currently being designed to eliminate the need for the interim repairs of the last several years.

The Fulton Avenue Bridge connects Mount Vernon to Rt. 1 in addition to the area’s major retail corridor. The posted detour route uses Pelham Parkway to Boston Post Road to Provost Avenue to South Third Avenue to South Columbus Avenue to South Fulton Avenue.
