New Book Tell True-Life Account of Family’s Trials and Survival

A story of having the courage to stand tall and keep the faith amidst life's trying moments

MOUNT VERNON, NY - A story of one family's trials and survival which started after an unfortunate accident of a son back in summer of 2005 is in the book titled Shattered in a Split Second penned by author Vanessa Richardson Bagby.

One of the most awful things that can happen to a family happened to the Bagbys.  As Atiba's family huddled together for support and sought comfort in their faith in God, they prayed that he would make it through the night. What they never expected was an enduring family saga that would stretch to every corner of their lives. Would his parents' marriage survive? How would his two kid brothers cope? What secrets did the family hold that would finally come to light?  And who was driving the car that hit Atiba in the first place?

Part mystery, part love letter to the author's son, the story seeks readers understanding as to what one should do when the world turns upside down, and there's nowhere to turns to.  It's a choice of either crumbling to one's knees, or keeping the faith in God by standing tall.

Through her unbearable pain, a mother relives those awful moments in this heart-throbbing, true-life account of her family's survival.  The book teaches readers that with the Lord's good grace and the courage to stand tall, anything except death can be fixed.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
