Coat Drive Underway at New Rochelle Chevrolet

Coats and jackets will be accepted through the month of December.

Have a coat you can spare?

Take it to for their December coat drive.

Kevin Kiernan, of New Rochelle Chevrolet, said it was part of the company's giving back to the community.

"We are donating all the coats to the American Red Cross," he said. "They are in dire need of jackets and coats."

Kiernan said the organization could use upwards of 100 coats to give away.

And he said it doesn't matter if the donated coat has seen better days.

"We will take it all," Kiernan said. "But most of the time, believe me when I tell you, and this is my fourth year, people give new coats."

You can drop off a coat without having to buy a car, he said with a laugh, "but we wouldn't mind if you did."

New Rochelle Chevrolet is located at 291 Main Street. They are open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
