Iona Preparatory School Receives Grant To Install A WeatherBug Station On Campus

Iona Preparatory School has recently received a grant allowing the school to install WeatherBug, an application for PC’s and Mac’s that features weather updates and forecasts from Iona Prep’s Upper School Campus. The grant, which was secured by Mrs. Maureen Kiers, Principal of Iona Preparatory School, allows Iona Prep to stay on the cutting edge of science and technology.

“The installation of the WeatherBug at Iona Prep will benefit our students greatly,” began Brother Thomas R. Leto CFC, President of Iona Preparatory School. “Our science courses will now be more interactive, our students will be able to tap into the WeatherBug and take advantage of the research, resources and information the application has to offer, and the school community will have another weather forecasting feather!” He concluded, “WeatherBug helps strengthen an already impressive science curriculum.  Who knows, it might even lead to more accurate weather predictions so our students can prepare for snow days!” In addition to its use in the classroom, Iona Prep’s partnership with WeatherBug will allow local, regional, and national TV and radio outlets to link to the feed from Iona Prep.
