Tree of Life Celebration at Sound Shore Medical Center

Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam will kick off its Tree of Life celebration at Sound Shore Medical Center with a tree lighting ceremony on Tuesday, November 27th, 2012 at 4:30pm.  The Hospice Care tree lighting will take place as part of the hospital’s lighting of both the official Sound Shore Medical Center tree as well as the Tree of Lights.  Tree of Life will run from November 27th thru December 24th at Sound Shore Medical Center.

The Tree of Life is an annual benefit for Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam.  It captures the solemn spirit of the holiday season and provides people with a wonderful way to remember loved ones in a special way.  Individuals may purchase ornamental doves to be inscribed with the name of a loved one, which are then displayed on evergreen trees at the Jefferson Valley Mall for the duration of the holiday season.  Doves may be purchased at the event locations or by calling (914) 666-4228 or online at www.vnahv.org

Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam would like to extend a special thank you to Dow Chemical, Highland Pork, Peach & McPherson, Putnam Hospital Center and Elder Care Connection.

All proceeds from the event benefit Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam, a not-for-profit organization which offers comprehensive programs for patients with advanced or life-threatening illnesses in Westchester and Putnam Counties.  Bereavement support groups are also offered, at no cost to participants, to children and adults in the community.  If you would like more information about Hospice Care or the Tree of Life please call (914) 666-4228, or visit www.vnahv.org

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
