(New York) November 10, 2012 – 100th Years of Independency Leonard Ajkun, co artistic director of the Ajkun Ballet Theatre and resident choreographer, looks forward to celebrate the rich culture of his native country with the audience of Iona College, in the Christopher Murphy Auditorium, November 29 at 7pm.

 Leonard’s exciting and daring choreography depicts the rituals rooted deep in history from 2000 BC and impressed on Albanian culture by the Romans, the Byzantine Empire and the Islamic faith, touching on the contemporary social topics such as discrimination against women, immigrants and religion.  

 Legacy premiered at the MMAC Theater in New York City, October 2010, with an introduction by author and journalist Pëllumb Kulla, Albanian Ambassador to the United Nation, ex officio; the ballet toured Albania, Italy and Australia in 2011 and 2012.

I think it's great that Pamela Davis stepped up to run and I would be glad to vote for her any otherRead More year. But this year we have one of New Rochelle's most dedicated and knowledgeable activists running. Bob Cox knows New Rochelle and the school district inside and out. I'm not sure the same can be said for Pam Davis. If you want someone who already knows where the wasteful spending is, and already knows the district's strengths and weaknesses, then Bob Cox is the person. Who cares how congenial he is? Where some people see anger and finger-pointing, others see tenacity and accountability.
