Obama's 2nd Term Will Look Like...

Wondering how another four years with Obama will be? Check out my post!

In past debates, President Obama expressed how he will improve America and get us moving forward.

Americans who don't follow the elections may like or dislike the President solely based on what they see and hear in these debates.

If you're unsure about the future of our country during the next four years, it might look like this based on Obama's policies:

Creating Jobs at here in America:

Manufacturing at home improves communities and leads to innovation and creates higher-waged jobs.

To enhance his recovery which began when he saved the auto industry, he plans to create 1 million new manufacturing jobs by the end of 2016.

He will also increase American exports.

The president cut taxes for American workers and has provided 18 tax cuts for small business.

By cutting spending and increasing revenue, the deficit (national debt) will be reduced by $4 trillion over the next decade.

$2.50 tax cut for every $1 the revenue increases.

Increasing taxes on households making over $1 million—etting them give a little more since they can afford to.

Ending wars to rebuild America:

Our President ended the war in Iraq, and plans to end the war in Afghanistan by 2014.

He plans to use 1/2 the money we save by ending these wars, to build our infrastructure; by proposing an independent fund that will gain private donor dollars, we can start new construction projects based on how badly we need them and how they will positively affect our economy.

Investing in Clean Energy:

Obama plans to cut oil-imports in half by 2020; by decreasing imports by 5.5 million  barrels a day and reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

By doubling fuel-efficiency, consumers will save $8,000 at the pump, create jobs, and save 12 billion barrels of oil.

If we use our 100-year supply of natural gas, 600,000 jobs by the end of the decade can be supported.

Opening up 75% of our gas and oil resources in the Gulf and Arctic can improve our own energy safely and cautiously without spills.

Pushing Education:

Investing in education creates opportunities for all Americans and is the surest path for the middle class.

Our president is setting a goal to be world leaders in college graduates by 2020.

He plans to cut tuition and fees in half over the next 10 years which saves students money.

Bring together community colleges & businesses to properly train 2 million Americans for jobs now and in the future.

He will push to save jobs for teachers, reward great teachers and improve teacher effectiveness.

Recruit 100,000 math and science teachers.

Health Care:

Obamacare benefits every American—it provides access to preventative care without Co-Payments or deductibles. Medicare is then strengthened for our seniors and young individuals will receive the proper health insurance they need.

Women will stop being charged more than men for the same coverage.

Wishful thinking ; look at the damage this President has done in 4 years and you write "it might look like this based on Obama's policies" ? Whoever put this in the Patch did a great dis-service to the readers. This is pure speculation and political manure. I'd rather see hard facts and watch the debates take place on the blogs in the Patch. Not this sophomoric nonsense. And if the moon was made of cheese there would be no more hungry in the world ; Give it a rest.

1. The majority of jobs lost have been the higher paying jobs & those he brags of adding are lower paying & part-time. 2. He continually misquotes his own proposition to increase taxes on "the rich"& those households "making over a millions dollars". In reality, he proposes to increase taxes on households making over $250,000; his math is a little off by $750,000. 3. Ending War in Afghanistan by 2014 will NOT happen; we might pull out but the war will continue & likely get worse without our help. 4. Have we not learned from throwing money at losers like the Solyndras, Ener1s & now A123 Systems who produce the batteries for the incendiary Fisker Karmas & Chevy Volts (two more losers)? Have they yet figured out how to ecologically dispose of all those non-biodegradeable batteries? 5. Pushing Education: Great idea! Hopefully, it will be to educate the instructors. Start with E-D-U-C-A-T-E not Indoctrinate. 6. Sounds promising& ideal; unfortunately, many companies may go the route of hiring under 30 hours/week or paying the penalty in order to avoid providing insurance. Who knows how the bottom falls out when the new taxes come out of hiding starting in 2013. As for women being charged same as men for same procedures, sure, if we're talking about tonsilectomies and appendectomies but when you start talking about mastectomies, tubal ligations, Caesarean births and hysterectomies, think again.

@Joan well thought out comments especially number 5!! I wish there were more clear thinking people such as you and JJ..

There are so many false stats & aspirations here its beyond belief: Not enough space for a comprehensive response. Instead of this "fluff" lets get facts: go to http://www.usdebtclock.org/ for the state of our national finances. It is non-partisan & you will be shocked. The Congressional Budget Office numbers are there(the government has not actually passed a federally mandated required budget since the President came to office). We have had deficits of over $1Trillion for each year of the current admin. (more than twice that for each year of the previous admin. - just stating the numbers on the website, non-partisan remember). The Debt clock website (gov. produced #'s) let's us know we are up @ around $1Trillion deficit annually to 2016 & every year until then (adding to the national debt). President's campaign disputes their own government provided #'s! We should vote for the guy who can get this fiscal disaster fixed. The President had 4-years the #'s tell us what's happened. Romney's fiscal record: Private Sector, Olympics, Gov. of MA speak for themselves - its a sterling record (in the words of former President Clinton). A lot of the economists & commentators disputing his plans have never run anything in their lives, so I'm not sure they are ones to believe - even the non-partisan ones! Goto the"time machine" function on http://www.usdebtclock.org/ & see 2016 for the mess we'll be in...based on the Govt's own numbers, non-budget, etc. USE NON-PARTISAN NUMBERS!

I wish Romney would state what his plan is. 5 points glossed over with a wink and a nod and a "trust me, I'm the businessman" grin on his face just doesn't cut it for me. That "trust me I'm the businessman" line was the same one that Bush ran on and look at where we are now. More than half the debt accrued occurred on Bush's watch, the mortgage melt-down: Bush's watch, reduction in average wages: Bush's watch. Two election cycles where he promised to reform health care but all we got was an unfunded prescription Medicare prescription plan: Bush's watch. Just sitting here having to relive these facts makes me want to shower. So you're all asking me to cast my vote to Romney because he's different or because he's the same? I'm confused. The Romney I liked was the one who was governor of Mass, the one who reformed health care for that state and balanced a budget. I have no idea who this guy is that's running for President. Obama 4 more.
JJ October 20, 2012 at 10:42 AM
@Racman63..........Mr. Bush hasn't been around for years so that argument doesn't float. Mr. Obama has been at the helm for 4 years and he made 501 promises that he hasn't kept. Mr. Obama is working way beyond his knowledge & capabilities. He did keep one promise; he got his girls a dog for the White House.
Racman63 October 20, 2012 at 11:27 AM
Bush hasn't been around for 4 years, but his stench surely remains. Just look around you. The man and his policies were a disaster for this country. Doubt my word? He wasn't even invited to speak at the RNC and the only mention of his name was by his brother, barely. I repeat: You want me to vote for Romeny because he's different from Bush or the same?
JJ October 20, 2012 at 11:36 AM
I see your point and respectfully disagree. There's no way America can take another 4 years of President Obama and his insane polices. Mr. Bush might have had some issues but at least he was smart enough to surround himself with experienced and savvy people ; NOT these Chicago Thugs that we're seeing in the White House today. Obama has no experience to lead anything because he's NEVER done anything. He is a "package of lies" and the American public is starting to realize that now.

I know what a second Obama term would look like: pain. Lots of it.
Ross Revira October 20, 2012 at 12:28 PM
@ Racmany the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Imagine if President Obama had no one to blame for his failures?

If the POTUS is reelected the emphasis must continue to be job creation. The unemployment rate is moving in the right direction and must go lower. Also, we need to conclude our military engagement in Afghanistan. The POTUS says 2014. That time can not arrive soon enough. Finally we must address the national debt. I wish that I had a easy solution but frankly every solution will be painful. Regardless of who gets elected there will be no honeymoon. Sequestration and the expiration of the "Bush tax cuts" will be something that the POTUS will have to contend with. Jeff Meyer Tuckahoe, NY
Conservative NYer October 20, 2012 at 02:58 PM
Brilliant!! Sounds like a little bit of conceding is seeping into your post. " If POTUS is reelected" not using his name... interesting. Wouldn't a supporter of him say "when president 0bama gets reelected"??? In all seriousness I do agree with many of your points on Afganistan, the national debt MUST be dealt with and how there is no easy solution and last, Yes it will NOT be a honeymoon.
Aidan October 20, 2012 at 03:39 PM
We better do SOMETHING ... because the last four years have been just dreadful.
jeff meyer October 20, 2012 at 04:04 PM
Conservative NYer, back in August when POTUS Obama was up by 10% in the polls I commented on the PATCH that this would be a close election. This very well could be 2000 redux. It is no secret that I would never vote for Mr. Romney. However, I would never assume that POTUS Obama is a shoe in. To do do would be unwise and absent of fact. If Mr. Romney is elected I hope he succeeds in helping the citizenry. At the end of the day we are all Americans. Jeff Meyer Tuckahoe, NY
Conservative NYer October 20, 2012 at 04:10 PM
It cannot be a close election. It MUST be a complete and utter blowout; a LANDSLIDE to make sure there are no allegations of "hanging chads", etc. Your prior post still has the sweet scent of you conceding that he will not be elected. : ) Again I do agree with your comment, "At the end of the day we are ALL AMERICANS!"
Racman63 October 20, 2012 at 04:15 PM
JJ: It takes an idiot, such a Bush, to keep a Village entertained, but to truly wreck a nation, it takes a team. When you say Busy was smart enough to have competent people around him, then I ask you: Who was minding the economy while his national security team was busy assailing our privacy and civil rights? There is plenty of evidence to support the position that the loosening of certain banking regulations during the Bush presidency lead to the crash in the housing finance market. But let's not dwell on the past because as you say, that was 4 years ago, plenty of time for a competent chief executive to have cleaned up the mess even though any economist will tell you it that historically it takes at least 10 years to fully recover from a financial collapse brought about by a banking crisis. For the moment I offer for your consideration this article in salon concerning the men Romney has been putting around him as economic advisers: http://www.salon.com/2012/08/08/mitt_romneys_economic_disgrace/ And should you consider salon to be partisan, then here's a piece from the WSJ: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204778604577241583152450486.html What's the expression? The past if prologue.

Here's a short current video to watch - "Bain-owned factory workers plead w Romney to stop plan that will send their jobs to China", Oct. 19, 2012. http://current.com/shows/the-young-turks/videos/bain-owned-factory-workers-plead-with-romney-to-stop-plan-that-will-send-their-jobs-to-china This kind of destruction and disregard for your fellow citizens will create karma that follows one. Profits at the price of people is money that will haunt those profiting in the short term far longer than one can possibly imagine. A global economy is a myth. People live in real places, and we are bankrupting our own real country where we really do live. This election vote for someone and something you believe in, and who believes in you as an American citizen. Wish China well, but champion yourself and your own people first. Anything else will fail you, your fellow Americans, your country, and ultimately, your world. Stand for something worth living for. Vote Libertarian for one election. Gary Johnson, Libertarian candidate for President, wants to change tax laws so that American business has an incentive to remain and return to the USA. Start living for freedom, right here in your own country. Vote Libertarian for one election. Live free. http://www.garyjohnson2012.com/

Racman63, once again some good points. Now I ask you what you think about Obama increasing federal employees by 38,000 and wanting to hire some 16,000 IRS Agents to look at your health care/ bank accounts? How about all of these Czars? Or all of the Presidential Directives on "taking over" transportation hubs, aircraft, boats etc. in the event of martial law? How about expanding the U.S. Government's role in communication interceptions and adding more buildings and floor space to the agencies that conduct these operations? Have you heard of this FEMA Youth Corps? There's a lot out there to digest but we all select what we want to believe. Thanks for the comments Sir. BTW, anything from the WSJ is pure political manure.
JJ October 20, 2012 at 07:04 PM
@Sharpie ; good selection but unfortunately Mr. Johnson will split the vote and we might end up with Barrack Hussein Obama again. I wish Mr. Johnson had a better chance; I really do.

Just too many shady givaways to companies that disappear shortly afterwards. Too much reluctance and stalling by the administration to release information is not an indication of honesty and integrity. Too many half truths especially in statistics Obama's alignment with openly anti American and Marxist individuals. Really take a close look at whatever history is available on this man. Keep an open mind, take no political position,be objective and then ask yourself if he should be the leader of the free world, President of the United States and Commander in Chief.
