Unfunded Mandates, Forensics and Financial Sacrifices

Here are some things you need to know for Wednesday, November 7, 2013.

1. There will be a Forum on Mandate Relief at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 7. It will be held at Hommocks Middle School, 130 Hommocks Rd. in Larchmont. The panelists will include Sen. George Latimer, Assemblyman Steve Otis and Westchester-Putnam School Boards Assocation Executive Director Lisa Davis. They will discuss programs that the state requires counties, municipalities and school districts to provide and fund. For more, go here.

2. The Katonah Museum of Art will present "Forensics of Face" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 7. The event will be show the connection between art and crime-solving with FBI Special Agent Elizabeth J. Hemenway and Art Historian Amy Herman. It's $15 for members and $20 for non-members. KMA is located at 134 Jay St. in Katonah.

3. Expect showers Thursday before 4 p.m. The high will be near 62. Overnight, it will be mostly clear with a low around 39.
