School Taxes Due and Halloween Events

Here are some things you need to know for Thursday, October 31, 2013.

1. Today is the last day to pay your New Rochelle school tax bill without getting charged interest. School tax bills for New Rochelle are mailed the first week of the collection month and are due on or before Oct 31st. Payment received (US Post Mark) after Oct 31st will be assessed interest charges. City Hall is located at 515 North Ave.

2. Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, 1 Mead Way, has transformed the Performing Arts Center into a theatrical nightmare—House of Le Grand Guignol. The free event starts at 8 p.m. With terror lurking around every corner, this immersive, interactive event deconstructs three short plays of violence, horror, and sadism popular in 20th-century Parisian cabarets. It promises to be a devilishly fun evening of demented nuns, twisted scientists and roving lunatics. The performance is not appropriate for children. Limited space is available; RSVP required: 914-395-2412.

3. Halloween might be a little damp. The forecast from the National Weather Service is calling for a slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. with a high near 67. There is a 100 percent chance of showers after 8 p.m., with the low near 58.

4. ICYMI: Head to the Boulders ballpark in Rockland for a free Halloween community event.

5. Tides: Thursday—high, 9:23 a.m.; low, 4 p.m.; high, 9:46 p.m.; Friday—low, 3:52 p.m.
