Happy Hour, Passports and Rain in the Forecast

Here are some of the things you should know for Thursday, October 10, 2013.

1. IntoxiKate Happy Hour comes to Alvin & Friends in New Rochelle Thursday. Join Westchester #FoodieNation for drink specials and free food courtesy of Alvin Clayton. RSVP here. Happy hour is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Alvin & Friends is located at 14 Memorial Hwy. in New Rochelle.

2. Need a passport? You can still apply for one and have it processed during the government shutdown. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Westchester County Clerk Mobile Passport Office will be open for business at Harbor Island Park, Mamaroneck Avenue and Post Road, in Mamaroneck. You will need to bring a certified copy of your birth certificate, a valid driver's license and the fee. If you are planning to apply, call 914-995-3086 or visit www.westchesterclerk.com for specific requirements.

3. Looks like we are in for a few days with rain. The forecast from the National Weather Service said we can expect periods of rain Thursday, mainly after 11 a.m. The high will be near 64. There is an 80 percent chance of precipitation. It's the same for Thursday night, with a low around 55.

4. ICYMI: The grow! Lincoln Park Community Garden swapped vegetables after a harvest.
