Garbage Collection, Henna and Possible Thunderstorm

Here are a few of the things you need to know about in and around New Rochelle for Thursday, August 29, 2013.

1. Garbage and trash will be collected in the north end Thursday and the the south end Friday. These are the last collections this year using summer hours. Garbage and trash must be put out at the curb before 6 a.m. Beginning Tuesday, September 3, the Department of Public Works will resume regular hours for curbside collection. All garbage and bulk items for pickup must be placed at curbside by 7:00 AM on the scheduled day of collection. The full collection schedule is available at www.newrochelleny.com. Please remember that mattress and box springs must be placed in a disposable mattress bag and sealed with packing tape in order to be collected. Unwrapped mattresses and box springs will not be picked up.
