Election Day: Voting, Partying and Music Listening

Here are some of the things you should know for Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

1. It's Election Day, and the schools are closed to students, but the polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. There are county-wide posts to decide, as well as local races. There are also some propositions to be voted on. Here is a roundup of what is on the ballot in New Rochelle, and here is how you can find out where to vote.

2. Looking for a place in New Rochelle Tuesday to watch the election returns or get away from the election and listen to some music? For the former, Zabidury, 8 S. Division Str., is offering $2 off all drinks and there is food available. Here's more information. For the latter, Alvin and Friends, 14 Memorial Hwy., is showcasing Madalyn & Nicole, (2 Girls, 1 Guitar), who will bring their interpretations to your favorite music. For details, click here.

3. There won't be any weather-related reasons for not voting Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, it will be partly cloudy with a high near 52. Overnight, it will be mostly cloudy, with patchy fog after 11 p.m. The low will be around 45.
