Day of the Dead, Data Protection and Clinton

Here are some of the things you should know for Wednesday, October 16, 2013.

1. Students in grades six through 12 can help create the New Rochelle Public Library’s 2013 Day of the Dead exhibit at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 16. There are weekly workshops with the artists who have been presenting the exhibits for the library since 2007. They will guide participants in the making of the paper mâché figures, ofrenda and other traditional art works for this year’s display.

2. A seminar will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday where you can learn how to protect your company's data. Robert Cioffi, CEO of Progressive Computing (PCI), is leading the seminar for business owners, hosted at The Microsoft Store at 125 Westchester Ave in White Plains.

3. You can expect patchy fog before 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 70. There is a slight chance of showers after midnight. The low will be around 58.

4. ICYMI: Former Pres. Bill Clinton is throwing a fundraiser for Noam Bramson, who is running for county executive.

5. Tides: Wednesday—high, 10:12 a.m.; low, 4:49 p.m.; high, 10:37 p.m.; Thursday—low, 5:06 a.m.
