Council Meeting, Domestic Violence and Smashburger

Here are some of the things you should know for Tuesday, October 8, 2013.

1. The New Rochelle City Council will meet at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 515 North Ave. There are public hearings at 7:30 p.m. followed by Citizens to be Heard. The agenda can be found on the City's Web site.

2. My Sister's Place Youth Leadership Team is hosting a free event at 7 p.m. Tuesday for students and parents of Westchester County to discuss young men's role in preventing domestic violence. It will be held at the Emelin Theatre, 153 Library Ln., Mamaroneck. To serve your free ticket, call 914-698-0098.

3. The forecast for Tuesday from the National Weather Service calls for sunny skies with a high near 69. The wind will be out of the north 7 to 11 mph. Tuesday night, it will be mostly clear with a low around 51. Winds will be from the northeast around 10 mph.

4. ICYMI: Smashburger, which has restaurants in Mamaroneck and Pelham Manor, has a special for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Read about it here.
