Arrest Made in Vandalized New Rochelle Pay Stations

A Bronx man allegedly took his frustration over parking tickets out on pay stations.

Black garbage bags covered pay stations in the parking lot south of the after glue in the coin slots rendered the machines useless.

Bronx resident Duc Huang Do, 38, was arrested Jan. 9 in connection with the most recent vandalism attack that occured Jan. 3. A surveillance video, enhanced by New Rochelle Police, was able to identify the man.

He works at Exotic Nails for You at 505 Main St., and police said he became irate over parking tickets he had received.

An alcohol and acetone glue, used in nail salons, was found in the coin slots and on a keypad of the pay stations. Police said the suspect gave a written confession to the damage in the Jan. 9 incident—but he did not admit to any of the other reported incidents at this time. Police continue investigating the four previous incidents which date back to Feb. 11, 2011.

Duc Huang Do has been charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and is being held without bail.
