New Rochelle High School Librarian Faces Felony Sex Charge

The librarian was arrested when she appeared at the student's home. She has been suspended until further notice.

A New Rochelle High School librarian was arrested Wednesday for allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to a 16-year-old boy.

New Rochelle Police Captain Joseph Schaller said Marisa Anton, 33, of Yonkers, was charged with first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors, a class "D" felony.

According to Schaller, the boy appeared at police headquarters Sunday and reported that for the past several months Anton had been sending him e-mails and "other computer data communications of explicitly sexual content in an effort to invite him to engage in sexual conduct with her."

Organisciak said she passed all background checks required by state law and had no prior criminal record.

"As with all matters concerning our students, we take these allegations very seriously and are deeply concerned about the nature of the charges that have been made against one of our employees," Organisciak said. "The district will, of course, continue to give full cooperation to law enforcement authorities."
