Grab & Go Kids Planner: Mushroom Walk and 'The Art of Eels'

Events and activities to keep your little ones amused over the upcoming weekend.

Why Go: An opportunity to discover all different types of mushrooms along Greenburgh Nature Center's woodland trails. A communal lunch and a mushroom identification session will follow the guided mushroom walk. An interesting outdoor activity for the whole family to enjoy.

, Putnam Avenue & King Street, Port Chester, Saturday, Aug. 27, 1:15 p.m.
Why Go: Children's performer Graham Clarke will perform a free outdoor concert on Putnam Avenue in Port Chester. Graham Clarke's all ages performances are filled with music, humor, stories and more. Graham entertains his audiences with help from Delores (his Ovation acoustic guitar), Cinnamon (Delores’ little sister, an Ovation Adamas guitar) and Bluebelle (the baby of his guitar family).

Why Go: Lakeshore Learning Store, located at the Midway shopping center on Central Avenue in Scarsdale, offers Free Crafts for Kids sessions every Saturday. At this week's craft session, kids will create their own made-to-hang honey bee hive.

The Science Barge, 99 Dock St., Yonkers, Sunday, Aug. 28, 2-4 p.m.
Why Go: The Science & Art Sundays on The Science Barge series continues with The Art of Eels. During this week's workshop, kids will learn all about eels, have the chance to catch live ones and then paint pictures of the eels they catch.
Pricing: $5 (supply fee).
