Bee-Line Strike Could Affect New Rochelle School Children

An e-mail from the City School District of New Rochelle addresses how children will get to school in the event of a strike.

The following was sent to parents in the New Rochelle School district via e-mail Tuesday:

Good day. This is Richard Organisciak, Superintendent of Schools. I have important information regarding bus transportation for your child. There is a possibility that beginning Thursday morning, March 1st, there will be a strike of all Bee-Line bus drivers. If that is in fact the case, please know that we have contracted with yellow school buses to cover all school routes within New Rochelle. If your child normally rides a Bee-Line bus, he/she should report to their usual stop in the morning and will be dropped off at the same regular location in the afternoon. Please be patient as we work through this situation. This arrangement with the yellow school buses will remain in place for the duration of the strike. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Transportation Department at 576-4230. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
