Alvin & Friends to Move in New Rochelle

The new location is the site of the shortlived Clubhouse Grill.

Alvin Clayton, one of the owners of Alvin & Friends, which serves southern contemporary and Caribbean cuisine, is in the process of opening his new location at 14 Memorial Hwy., the site of the former Clubhouse Grill.

Clayton said the previous location on Lawton Street had 50 seats and now he will have 65 in the main dining area, a community table near the bar area and an additional 85 seats in a private dining room.

Besides continuing to serve dishes such as fried chicken and macaroni and cheese, Clayton will continue to display his paintings, many of which are for sale. He said he paints more when he is under stress, so he has been turning out the paintings during the renovation.
